Getting a new nephew would be a good thing.... or so i thought. I love puppies and i'm not embarrased to say that I am a rottie who is totally in touch with his feminine side! For a few months Petra-NO and I had been in the secret inner circle of the 2-legged families super secret conspiracies. To cut a long story short our Gran had always wanted a German Shepherd Dog (obviously, having known me, she has subconsciously realised the error of her ways but is still in rottie denial). Despite missing the original angel-pie dog, Big Jake, she had never taken the plunge and brought one of her own into her family. Soooo, as Gran was approaching a big birthday that year (I'm not allowed to say how big, but trust me... its a lot of dog years!! ) the family had decided to get her a surprise. Hopefully she'd be happy. If not, i guessed that I'd be having a new little brother rather than a new nephew :)
So, one day Mum left Petra-NO and me at home and went off to collect the new arrival. She
came back 9 hours later smelling of puppy-pee and holding a super cute bundle of fluff. He was soooo cute that i decided straight away that i would be his fav uncle and teach him everything that a growing pup needs to know. Petra-NO decided that she would be the miserable aunt and shouted at him when he wanted to play. Anyway, the plan was for puppy to stay at our house for a few days until Grans Birthday, but that idea went out of the window on the first night! Let me warn you guys that Mum is NOT a morning person. Nor is she any fun to be around if she hasn't had a good night sleep!! But for 8 weeks old this puppy isn't stupid. He cried and cried until Mum let him sleep in the bed with her!! IN the bed dogs! Not on. IN! I'm lucky if I'm allowed in the bedroom!Anyway, Mum was really peeved about loosing sleep and so decided that Gran would have to have an early birthday present instead!!! I think Gran was a bit shocked when we presented her with him, but he's so cute that she couldn't resist. He's been named Jake in memory Big Jake. But for now he's little Jake until we see how much he grows. Here he is with me in front of the fire place at Grans! Isn't he cute?! I think he's about 10-12wks in this pic because his ears are standing up properly.
